Don’t know what frame drums Frame drums are most ancient type of musical instruments. Frame drums are usually round made of wood with animal skin and sometimes metal rings or plates incorporated into the drum to provide jingle. They are found all over the world, Brazil gives us the Panderio used in Samba & Bossa Nova, Egypt has given us the Riq played toaccompany belly dances, from Iran we get the Persian Daf used for spiritual ceremonies, for social dances Italy has provided us with the Tamburelli and Tammorra.

Frame Drums are very versatile you can play rock reggae, jazz & funk, and if you have played another style of drumming be it Djembe, conga or drum kit you can transfer all you know onto the Frame Drum, they are light very portable and can be played almost anywhere and in any situation

Come along to our Introductory Frame drum tasters at ST Marks Church and find out all you need to know about these unique and fabulous instruments. Suitable for all levels groups & families are welcome

Look out for our Frame Drums taster sessions throughout February, March, April and check out the web site for our Frame Drum Gallery and listen to frame drum samples.
