Great cemetery stones - no so great reception
I've always loved Highgate Cemetery. They have some superior sculptures there, and the West Cemetery has to be seen to be believed. Unfortunately, they are the only cemetery I know of who charges people to go in it! Not only that, but they don't allow you to use 'big' cameras OR use your photos publically. Which, for someone like me, who is trying to photograph every London Cemetery, is a bit of a pain in the ass.
So, if you want to see some beautiful funerary stonework, you want to be able to wander in peace, and you want to post your photos publically - go somewhere like Kensal Green, Brookwood Cemetery, Nunhead, West Norwood or City of London Cemetery.
Highgate may be the most well known, but it doesn't mean it's the best!
