Tribal ohne Grenzen/Tribal without frontiers
This festival was organised by Setareh-ha from Pirmasens deep in the "Spessart" - a forest in the south of Germany and infamous for its robbers!

Everything was held in the police sports and social club, hence the facilities were limited and by no means luxurious. Having said that, the whole weekend was just fabulous - the girls from Setareh-Ha had decorated the hall, were providing tea, cakes, bombay mix and catering to our every whim - well done girls!

I think on the Friday night, we danced for about 4 hours - We drilled Tribal basic moves a la FatChance, but in Kajira style if that makes sense. During the workshop we got acquainted with her format and signature moves.

Over the whole weekend, we built on that knowledge, increased our vocabulary and kept on drilling the posture and basic technique. We also learned some new combos and steps such as the calibrated spin a la Frederique, a Kathak turn and the 'Princess' turn inspired by none other than the fabulous Princess Farhana.

The weekend culminated with Kajira demonstrating some floor work whilst we (the students) had collapsed and were only capable of watching in awe.

A thoroughly enjoyable and inclusive weekend and Kajira was amazing, patient and giving as always!

A big 'Thank You' to Shazadi, Leoni (for translating for everyone) and everyone in Setareh-Ha for making this weekend happen; and a big hug for Kajira for sharing her knowledge and skill with us in an amazing setting!

Thank you Kaj!
